Cycads are ancient, slow-growing plants, and many South African species are threatened in the wild. At Bushlilly we grow cycads from nursery seed, as part of our breeding work.
Coming soon
Our cycads are not yet available to buy. We'll announce them here, and to our interest list, as soon as they are.
Register your interest
Email hello@bushlilly.co.za with your name and the cycads you're interested in (for example a specific Encephalartos species). We'll let you know first when they become available.
Why nursery-bred matters
Wild cycads are protected by law in South Africa, and illegal collecting has pushed several species close to extinction. Nursery-bred plants help protect wild populations, because every cultivated plant is one less taken from the wild.
A note on permits
Protected cycads in South Africa need permits to own, sell or move. We'll share what you need to know when our cycads become available. For questions now, email us.
